HETIRISK's claims consultation services consistently save our clients money and improve their risk management programs. We work with clients to resolve claims even when others have failed.
Representative Projects*
Manufacturing Facility - Established negotiating strategies to overcome the insurance claims adjuster's lower estimate of a property claim, filed by an industrial client. Efforts included researching all operations and loss control policies and procedures and preparing legal reports to support claimant's position - resulting in the client receiving a $2 million settlement…or $800,000 more than had initially been approved by the insurance carrier.
Industrial Facility - Performed accident investigation and claims coordination for a third-party property damage claim involving a contractor and heavy equipment at a manufacturing facility. Efforts resulted in an agreeable out-of-court settlement. As a result of the investigation, improved risk management procedures were implemented resulting in no significant third-party contractor claims at that facility in the following seven years.
State University - Performed and managed accident investigation, root cause analysis, and accident re-enactment for a third-party fatality of a child at a university sports facility. Efforts resulted in a mutually agreeable out-of-court settlement. Recommendations were generated from the incident investigation and root cause analysis that improved sports facilities' engineered risk controls and risk management procedures - resulting in no fatalities or serious third-party injuries in the following ten years.
Grain Elevator Operations - Investigated a series of fatalities related to grain elevator operations. Served as an outside expert for the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Standards development branch. Recommendations generated from these accident investigations were implemented in grain elevator operations in many facilities throughout the nation. Efforts resulted in a dramatic reduction in injuries and fatalities, as well as millions of dollars in savings due to avoided critical incidents.
