Representative Projects*
Residential Construction Operations – Conducted pre-construction inspections at three major residential projects in Hawaii and Washington, during which it was determined that geotechnical engineers had not tested for sulfate content during the original soil tests at any of the projects. Since high soil sulfate content can adversely affect foundation concrete installed by construction contractors, insufficient soil testing could have led to an improper concrete mix – threatening the proper completion of each project and potentially leading to major construction defect claims. By identifying this issue through the normal survey process, the possibility of increased construction costs and of construction defect claims from future property owners were substantially reduced – at a fraction of the potential future costs.
High Technology Manufacturer [$200 million in constructed value; Owner-Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP)] - Managed construction site-safety programs, OSHA 10-hour outreach, and other related safety training at large high technology fabrication facility; performed safety audits, subcontractor evaluation and consultation.
Large Private Northern California University - Construction safety support for $190 million multi-year OCIP construction project. Provided safety coordination, training, and on-site consultation services for grading and paving general contractor and numerous specialty subcontractors.
California Municipal Holding Facility Construction - Provided construction safety management and project safety planning and oversight for multi-million dollar law enforcement holding facility.
Industrial Construction Clients - Reviewed more than 100 site-specific health and safety plans involving specialized hazards - including, but not limited to, working on or near tanks/pipelines that previously contained hazardous materials, working in confined spaces, working around overhead power lines, performing hot taps, performing lead abatement, and lifting over existing pipelines.
